Employee Spotlight: Sarah Patrick

By October 12, 20202 min read

Say hello to Sarah – our design and marketing manager! She has been with Social Assurance since 2016 and is currently enjoying her favorite month of the year. (She wishes we lived in a world with only Octobers.) Learn more about her below.

What is your role at Social Assurance and what do you like most about your job?

“As the graphics and brand manager, I work with awesome designers on our team to help bring our brand to life across various platforms (social content, marketing materials, website, conference items, etc.). I love the variety of what I get to do and who I get to work with! Every day is different and every project varies but points back to one larger goal.”

How do you stay up on current trends in the marketing and social media world?

“One of my favorite design principles is “Good design happens in small wins.” I try to spend the first few minutes of each day looking at design via blogs, websites or social media. Paying attention to even the smallest of details in a design can help inspire big impacts.”

What’s the best financial advice you’ve ever received?

“My greatest lesson on finance was when my dad taught me about interest and loans through an “IOU” system when I was eight years old. Well, although he forgot about it, I did not! I saved those IOUs and nine years later cashed them in for over $700. I wrote a blog about it for Social Assurance here. It’s one of my favorite stories that we still laugh about today!”

What are you passionate about?

“Personally, I spend a lot of time working in various ministries at my church and enjoy studying the Bible. I also spent ten years of my life training in Ballet and teaching at a dance studio – I love seeing Kansas City Ballet perform.

Professionally, I want to keep learning new skillsets, stay inspired to spark creativity, and continue to evolve our brand by staying on top of new trends.”

What do you think will be the biggest marketing or social media trend to hit the financial industry in 2021?

“It’s important for financial service providers to not underestimate the importance of their brand identity. They are a vital part of any community they are in. I think the main goal for financial industry’s in 2021 is to make sure their presence is impactful, valuable and highlights just how truly remarkable they are.”
