Are You Meeting Your Marketing Resolutions?

By February 1, 20193 min read

Now that the first month of the year is over, it’s time to check in and see if you’re on track to meet your goals. The start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to gather your team (around coffee) to check in on and set resolutions for how you’ll tackle any marketing obstacles.

While vowing to create a content calendar or deciding to discard all broken links on your website are good places to start, set stretch goals so your team is being challenged to grow. As you start to reflect on your first month and set goals for the rest of the quarter and beyond, here are a few things to consider:

Approach Product Launches Differently

Do you plan to launch a new product or service this quarter? Are you relaunching or starting a new campaign for an existing product? Hold a brainstorming session to gather new ideas. Don’t forget to include leadership and sales representatives for that specific product or service in your meeting. This will help you understand how those team members will want to market that product to your customers and leads.

Don’t forget to set benchmarks and track your analytics to judge your campaign’s effectiveness and to guide future strategic decisions.

Invest More in Digital and Social Media Marketing

Digital and social media marketing tools offer several benefits that traditional advertising can’t provide. With better targeting and more accurate analytics, results can help you understand your audience and budget effectiveness.

With digital marketing, you can easily target your competitors through Google PPC ads and increase your local search results. This will help leads find you quicker (and ahead of your competition). Financial brands are also increasing their social media advertising budgets to not only increase awareness and sales, but to also stay competitive.

Hire a Strategic Partner

Choose a partner(s) that specializes in product develop and/or digital and social media marketing. A strategic partner helps your team leave some of your resolutions to the experts while you can focus on other initiatives you’ve already mastered.
